2025 fund OPEN to applications

Applications are now invited to the 2025 Maerdy Wind Fund.  The deadline for applications is 30th September 2025.  It is easy to apply, nearly anyone can apply and the chances of success are good.

Last time...

£65,000 in grants were handed out at the awards ceremony in January 2024.  Most the projects are now complete.  Check out their progress.

Maerdy Windfarm

The Maerdy Wind Fund is a community fund supported by the Maerdy Wind Farm located between Maerdy and Treorchy. 

Open to All

Grants range from £500 to £10,000. Individuals & organisations can apply.  Voluntary and commercial bids welcome. A minimum number of just five votes is required.

Past Projects

£387,000 has been provided to good causes since the inception in 2012. 

 

197 projects have received funding in this time​.

Democratic

Funding for projects is determined by a public vote.  Residents (15+) of Maerdy Ward vote for their favourite projects.
